Only Schwab's line of fire files provide a fail-safe paper document protection this dependable or convenient. The Series 5000 comes with follower blocks and frames for hanging folders. File interiors can be customized to fit any number of special filing applications and have flexible options such as the drawer-in-a-drawer for check filing or index cards.

Each Schwab Series 5000 vertical file is 31" deep with 26" of front-to-back filing space and comes with a Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Class 350-1 Hr. rating. Those rated as fire resistant assure protection for one hour in a fire where temperatures reach 1700¦ F - far greater than the normal business fire. Those rated as fire and impact resistant add the extra assurance that if the file falls through a floor, up to 30 feet, or is hit by falling beams or debris, the drawers will not jar open.

Lock Options

All items come standard with a plunger lock on the top drawer that controls all drawers.  If additional security is needed, the following locks may be chosen.  When a combination lock is installed on the top drawer, the standard plunger lock is deleted.

These features, combined with Schwab's unique file construction, yield the only fire file that is virtually impossible to break into without leaving distinct visible evidence.

The electronic digital lock gives the benefits of multiple combinations and ease of combination change. An easy to see digit pad allows the user to open the lock in about seven seconds, or change the combination within a few minutes.

The three-digit combination lock offers extra security and convenience to users.
